If debt remains outstanding, Bailiffs are able to attend to debtors home address. If the property is rented a search is carried out to track the owner for the enforcement agent to attend at their address.
We always recommend payment is made to avoid a stressful experience as Bailiffs are allowed to try to come into your home between 6am and 9pm.
The enforcement agent can try discussing payment outside the home too.
Where forfeiture proceedings apply, the high court enforcement agent would attend with a locksmith to evict the leaseholder and change the locks, thereby giving control of the property back to the freeholder.
